Since Proton VPN has a 50 percent 1-star rating (and a 49% dislike for their mail program), that should be warning enough for people to stay away! - Proton VPN responded that they want my "ticket number." I don't have one. Because of this, I also wonder about the safety and anonymity of Proton with all their services in general. So I uninstalled ProtonVPN free, connected to a US server via my paid VPN, and then I had no problems accessing the site. Using whatismyipaddress-dot-com, it showed I was supposedly in New York, but the site recognized that I wasn't. But then I had a message from the site that denied my "country's" access.
